Eight years ago, a man walked into my life and completely swept me off my feet. Five years ago, I became his wife. It was a perfect, summer Saturday. We said our vows in bare feet on the shore of Lake Michigan at our favorite up north destination in the company of our dear family and friends. We were glowing and radiant with love for one another, and gratitude for all that God had blessed us with that day. We danced the night away and were the last ones to leave our reception. When we were at once alone for the first time as husband and wife, we just giggled and talked about how we couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful wedding celebration. Everything was just as we had wanted it to be and it was awesome!
Today, we are celebrating that day and the five years that have passed. Time sure has flown, and we have grown – individually and as a couple. We are amazed at all God has continued to do in and through our lives. He has given us so much and we are so thankful for this gift of sharing in the journey of life together. We thank our family and friends for the example of dedication, commitment, and faithfulness that they have set for us and appreciate the support that has been extended to us over the years.
Tomorrow we are embarking on a weeklong vacation to celebrate our anniversary and spend some quality time together, just hubby and wife. We’ll be in Northern California and are so excited to explore this area together for the first time! We are looking forward to the rest and relaxation that awaits, the time to reflect on this beautiful thing called “marriage” and ponder the next chapter. It’s going to be great!
Cheers!
