We made it home from Colorado on Monday afternoon. It was a wonderful trip full of family time and lots of activity. It was hard to leave knowing it will be awhile before I see my brother and nephew again, but I am so grateful for the time we were able to spend together over a long weekend. Here’s a photo recap of our trip…
I watched the sunset from sky-level as we flew to Denver Wednesday evening.
My wonderful lunch of chicken enchiladas with all the fixings at Jose Muldoons in Downtown Colorado Springs on Thursday afternoon. Delicious!
Thursday also included a refreshing 6 mile trail run at Garden of the Gods and I caught this picture of the red rocks with Pikes Peak in the background before heading back to the parking lot. It’s one of my favorite places to visit out there – GORGEOUS!
This was taken while driving through Garden of the Gods – a beautiful overlook of the valley and mountains.
Mountain Majesty! Breathtaking!
An overlook of the entire Garden of the Gods. AMAZING!
Reunited with my brother after a year! We celebrated his 26th birthday on Thursday night and had a blast!
The hubby and I! Love my man!
Traveled up the Pikes Peak Highway with the family on Friday afternoon. I was a little nervous at first (winding roads, major drop-offs, no guardrails) – but we survived the trek and it was a stunning!
I took this picture where we reached the furthest point one could travel up the mountain. GLORIOUS!
My brother stands on top of the world. Love and miss this guy A LOT!
My dad, brother, and I (i.e. the three amigos) at the scenic turnoff that overlooks Manitou Springs. We hadn’t taken a picture like this in YEARS! So good to be together again!
After our Pikes Peak experience, we ventured into Manitou Springs for lunch and happened upon this bluegrass group (The Tejon Street Thieves). There’s nothing like live twangy music blasting through the mountain town streets to get one in the western spirit!
My brother and nephew hanging out in the hotel on Saturday after our snowy drive from Colorado Springs to Golden. Such a dashing pair!
Jace all comfy and watching basketball. So adorable – I can’t get enough of him!
The parents, nephew, and I went to historic downtown Golden for dinner on Saturday night while the guys were up in the mountains for skiing / snowboarding.
My fabulous dinner at Table Mountain Inn. Chipotle Cherry Flat Iron with Cabernet. YUM!
A super snuggly Sunday morning with my favorite little man! He’s such a happy boy!
The parents and I took Jace to meet the Easter Bunny at the Colorado Mills outlet mall on Sunday. He was tired and not about to go near the bunny by himself, so I joined in on the fun!
Drove back through downtown Golden after our trip to the mall to capture a little more of the small town atmosphere. The landscape is awesome!
As you can see, it was a packed trip! I absolutely ADORE Colorado and feel so lucky that I have the ability to travel to such a wonderful place and the opportunity to reconnect with family. It’s times like these that make life so GOOD!
