Today marks the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. While I was not yet born when the speech was proclaimed from the steps of Lincoln Memorial, I have listened to it many times and have been deeply impacted by Dr. King’s message of hope, freedom, and equality for all as I engage in my profession as a Social Worker and my life of faith as a Christian.
Today is a great reminder for all of us to not be afraid to Dream BIG. Within each of our hearts lies incredible vision and passion and possibilities. By daring to believe in ourselves, giving voice to these things within us, and taking the necessary action steps, I think all of us are capable of doing GREAT things in our corners of the world, whether big or small.
So, here’s to Dreaming BIG and living the GOOD life now! Happy Dream Day!
