The Holy Week has come to an end and culminated into the most glorious day of all, Easter. Today we celebrate that despite all the suffering and death Jesus endured, He in fact did not die, but rose to life and continues to live in and around us this very day. And that means we are no longer slaves to our sin nor separated from God, but FREE and able to experience ABUNDANT life in Him. Forever and ever and ever. Hallelujah and Amen!
Not only is this Holy Week coming to an end, but it is also the last day of March. Gee, did this month fly or what?!? It seems like only yesterday I was writing my post about all the things to come this month, and now here we are at the end of it.
Throughout this month, in the midst of the busy weeks and while traveling, God has really been speaking to me about my future as I’ve been reading Scripture, journaling, and praying to Him each day. He’s been awakening me to the possibilities regarding the dreams and goals I feel He has placed in my heart to accomplish and I sense that something amazing is coming. I don’t know what it all entails, or if it will be in the near future, or how exactly I’m going to get there from here, but I know He’s got it all figured out and that I need not worry, but rather stay the course with Him, trusting Him for it all. For someone like me who is a planner and maybe a little of a control-freak, that’s not an easy thing to do. But I know it’s what I have to do if the plans He has for me are to succeed and are to be better than even my wildest imaginings.
God is a God of timing. I feel that these things He’s revealing to me are in perfect sync with what we celebrate today. Easter is about ALL THINGS NEW. A new life, a new season. A new hope, a new faith. A new opportunity, a new possibility. A new self, a new wardrobe. Easter is about all this good new stuff that makes me want to run outside, throw my arms up in the air, lift my head toward the sky, and dance around in circles like the craziest, most happy country girl you’ve ever seen! It’s a step-up to a new and better place with Him where yesterday is yesterday and today is brimming with sparkly, shiny newness! Isn’t it exciting?!? Yes, I think so!
Other blogs that I follow have been speaking of similar things, reaffirming that there is a change coming. A shift from something ordinary to extraordinary. Beth Moore posed this question in her blog earlier this week: “What do you look like when you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength? … When you are teeming with love for the Lord your God, who are you right then? What is your passion? What is it you are bursting to do?” Identifying this is the key to moving forward to a new place with Him because it reveals what God is looking for in us. It becomes the focus of our prayers where we can specifically ask God for his help in moving forward toward the end result He has in mind for us.
My devotional with the #SheReadsTruth community posed this question today: “What is God stirring in your heart through this resurrection story today? What truth is He speaking anew?” You see, God is up to something great through His rising from the dead. We need to listen to His voice and hear what it is He teaching us and growing within us; because it is in this that we find our hope and our real life.
In addition to all this, the sun has been shining the past couple days and the warmer temps have started to come, reminding me that after a barren, cold, and dead season, there is spring – a new beginning, a fresh start, a clean slate. This is also what we get with Jesus because of what He finished on Good Friday and accomplished in Easter. This newness and freshness is what I am ready for – this is what I so desperately need – this is what He is beckoning me to as I seek Him. He is calling me closer to Him so that He can give me His absolute BEST for my life and I LOVE that! He is a God who loves to thrill us with Himself and show us His wonder, and that’s what He’s doing for me, and I can’t thank Him enough for it! He is so GOOD!
To celebrate this Easter holiday, the hubby and I are doing something a little different this year. We went to church last night so that we could just take today to slow down and enjoy this blessed Sunday at home, together and with God. I like it. It’s nice to take pause, enjoy some breathing space, revel in the peace, quiet, and joy of this Sabbath day of rest, and give thanks to Him for it all. Our bodies, minds, spirits, and hearts need it. He gives the best refreshment we could ever ask for!
In closing today, I wish all of you a most beautiful and happy Easter, filled with His goodness and faithfulness in this new and glorious season of life. I pray that He will reveal Himself to you as you ponder the dreams He has placed within your heart, and that He will take you to a new, adventurous, and most exciting place with Him. I promise it will be worth the journey and that it will be good. It always is with Him.
“Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave”
