Hey there! My name is Alyssa, it’s so good to meet you! I am a blogger over here, my new wonderful space. My blog is only a few months old, and I’m having a blast creating a place for people to come as they are to ask questions and explore how to live life abundantly.
I am a Portland native, a friend, a daughter, a creator, but most importantly, someone saved by the grace of Jesus. One of my favorite quotes is by Bob Goff: “Grace means we don’t need to memorize all the excuses anymore.” As much as I try to hide or deny it, I’m a perfectionist and a people pleaser at my core. Grace means my life can be more than that.
I believe that living the good life can happen any time you choose; that we all have the power to unlock the kind of life we want to be living at any given moment. Living the good life for me in this season looks very different than it has previously. I just finished my last term of high school online, and am going to take the spring term off before I head to college in Nashville in the fall. Living the good life for me right now means taking a break from being a student, and allowing myself space to breathe and create. I’m looking forward to this time where I have the freedom to love myself and love others in ways I haven’t had room to ever before.
It doesn’t take a lot for me to get fired up. I believe in justice, and am actually going to school to get a degree in social justice. Mention anything about oppression or inequality and you’ll wonder where my usually laid-back-natured-spirit went.
My passions and dreams are connected to justice, too. I’m a dreamer AND doer at my core. I want to work for a non-profit that fights sex trafficking, using my skills and passions of either writing or event planning or teaching to see justice come to life in our world.
Again, I’m so glad to have met you! I do hope you’ll connect with me on my blog and on Instagram. Have a great day, friends!
