Happy Sunday! Here’s a quick post to share all the things I’m loving this month…
God’s Word.
I’ve been reading the Book of Mark over the past couple weeks and there is this recurrent theme of the people being “amazed,” “astonished,” “overwhelmed,” “in wonder of,” and “delighting in” Jesus – His teachings, His miracles, His very presence. It has really been speaking to me as I’m in this season of dreaming BIG and going deeper with Him, seeking His will for my life. My prayer is that I would live my life anticipating His goodness and awesome power, expecting that all things are possible in Him, and that He would thrill me with Himself. Could there even be anything better than this?!?
Online.
Currently loving two blogs I’ve come upon recently: A Place to Dwell and The Lipstick Gospel. They are now bookmarked on my Kindle and on my “go-to” list of daily delights and inspirations. I really enjoy these two authors and their authentic, faith-filled, creative hearts as displayed in their words and photos. Check them out here: http://aplacetodwell.wordpress.com/ and http://thelipstickgospel.com/.
Sounds.
Every now and then my iPod beckons me to download some new tunes and create a playlist that essentially becomes the soundtrack to my current season of life. The other night I created a “Coffeehouse Mix” comprised of music by All Sons and Daughters, Hymns of the People, Holley Maher, Jenny & Tyler, Chris and Bethany Solyntjes, and Emily Hearn. I would consider it a nice blend of worship and upbeat, happy, summery music with acoustic, light, folky layers. It’s a perfect addition to my morning coffee hour, or to have on while I’m doing housework or driving.
Pages.
Recently finished a non-fiction selection: “Grace (Eventually): Thoughts on Faith” by Anne Lamott and have now jumped into some fiction: “The Poisonwood Bible” by Barbara Kingsolver. Summertime to me means soaking in a lot of books – preferably on the deck or on the beach with a cold drink and snacks nearby. I’ve been visiting the used bookstore up north and have been able to find books that have come highly recommended by others and for a great price. Little things like this make me so happy!
Brew.
Shock Top: Honeycrisp Apple Wheat and Belgian White. So refreshing and perfect for happy hour at the lake.
Blossoms.
My backyard has come to life with the bloom of my fuchsia and red rose bushes. The splash of bright colors amidst the sea of lush green grass and forest leaves is a gorgeous sight to wake up and come home to every day.
What things are you loving right now? I’d love to know!
Have a blessed day!
