As of 12:02 this morning, I turned THIRTY-ONE years old. Woop Woop!
I LOVE birthdays and I absolutely LOVE the fresh starts that come with them. So far, I am LOVING this decade of life! Someone once said to me that our 30’s are the time of life to enjoy the fruits of our labor in the 20’s. I’ve also heard that this is the decade where we find ourselves. And I have to say, based on how year 30 went and the changes God worked out in my life over the past year (more on this to come in future posts), I can totally see the validity of these two points.
Turning 31 isn’t as climactic or dramatic as turning 30, but it’s still very exciting to be entering into a new year of life! There’s so much possibility that exists in a new year whose pages have yet to be written on. I haven’t done a lot of thinking about what I want to accomplish or work toward in this 31st year, which is different for me (another sign that my 30’s have been good to me as I’m more relaxed than I’ve probably ever been in my life), but I do know that I want my 31st year to be FULL of God and His goodness, FULL of quality time spent with family and friends, FULL of memory-making moments, and FULL of joy from doing the things I love to do!
Because I’ve learned a little something: As long as I’ve got love and joy, I’ve got ALL that I need!
In short, I’m going to bask in the simple pleasures in my 31st year. And that starts TODAY! I’ll start the day with a run, then drinking coffee and maybe watching a few episodes of Gilmore Girls on Netflix, followed by lunch and a little shopping with my mom, then coming back home to nap and read for a bit before ending it over a delicious steak dinner, Spartan football, and brownie sundaes for dessert with my hubby and friends.
Sounds like a PERFECT day to me! I can’t wait!
Here’s to a new day, another year, and a fabulous journey ahead …
Happy 31st Birthday to ME!
