It’s a quiet Sunday morning here at the ranch. I love when the day starts out like this. Mornings like these keep me soaking a little bit longer and savoring every last moment of this time with coffee, journal, and bible, wrapped in a warm, cozy blanket in my comfy over-sized chair. These are the moments that matter – these moments that set the pace for what lies ahead in the coming hours and helps me make the most of every moment of every day.
I thought I’d do something a little different today and share a few verses that have been speaking to my heart the past couple of weeks. These verses have come to my attention through my #SheReadsTruth devotionals, recent sermons at church, the e-book I’m reading (An Inspired Life), and the Freedom Tour session that I attended on Thursday. All of them share the common theme of “God’s Original Design” – a concept referring to God’s intention for our lives – to be His image-bearers in the world and bring Him glory. The idea is that when we have a fresh revelation of how God made us and what He calls us to, we are able to live more adventurous, courageous, full, free, and inspired lives. Who doesn’t want that?!? Considering my goals for 2014 and my current season of “making things happen,” this is right up my alley!
So, without much ado, here are some gems from God’s Word, and from my heart to yours on this Sunday morning …
