Just this past Monday evening, my best friend and I had the amazing opportunity to attend this year’s Outcry Tour at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. After attending Bethel Music’s Worship Nights together last year, I thought it would be awesome to go to a similar event again to hear some of our favorite worship music LIVE. So when I started researching what may be available and came across Outcry Tour, we were SOLD! And, friends, it was FANTASTIC!
Here are a few pics of our time spent in fellowship, praise, and worship …

A few takeaways (reminders) for me from this event:
- Knowing our identity in Christ is ESSENTIAL to living a purposeful life and fulfilling our destiny here on earth. Listen for what God speaks into your heart and life, look at the unique gifts and talents He’s blessed you with and put them into action to bring Him glory and live the dream He has for you. A life saturated in Him is the best life we could ever imagine.
- God says we are “enough.” His love of us is NOT based on our performance.
- Regularly meet with God to hear His voice and experience His presence. Put aside expectations and rules and “just be” with Him. He will come and we will experience His grandeur as we seek Him.
- God is the God of intentionality. If he provides us with something, it is with intention. If He withholds something, it is with intention. Whether we receive something or not, God is GOOD in both circumstances. Trust Him for what He’s doing and has planned.
Listening to worship music has been one of the BEST spiritual rhythms I’ve adopted into my daily life. And while I’ve typically not ran to music, this year I’ve started listening to worship music (always the upbeat tunes) on my long runs and it has made such a difference to take in the Truth and Word of God via music and praise Him while I’m out there doing one of the things I love most. I believe God created us for the purpose of bringing glory to Him, and worshiping Him is one of the ways we can do just that! And when you add your best friend to the mix, it’s just that much BETTER!
If you ever have an opportunity to attend something like this, I highly recommend it. If not, I suggest listening to worship music on a regular basis to keep God close to your heart and your mind focused on His goodness and the things above. You’d be amazed at how much just listening to one song can turn your day around.
