One of my goals for the last two years has been to do more in my kitchen. I’m the queen of simple and practical, but sometimes being simple and practical gets boring. So, in attempts to spice things up a bit, I started collecting and trying recipes from all over the place, including: family, friends, magazines, books, and websites. What began as a just a few recipes here and there, has quickly become a rather large assortment, ranging from food, beverages, to even information on specific ingredients and utensils. Thanks to Pinterest (who doesn’t love Pinterest?), I found a great way to sort all of these wonderful recipes out and make a quick go-to guide for my cooking/baking!
I bought a binder and with numerous scrapbooking materials, I used those to make a cute cover. (It’s so much easier to get to work in the kitchen when you have something nice to look at!) The tabs are separated into the following categories: Appetizers, Breads and Muffins, Desserts, Entrees, and Side Dishes. Some recipes I’ve pulled directly from magazines or the Internet; others I’ve typed out and then pulled pictures to pair with them.
As I try these recipes, I’ll come across some I love and others I don’t, but someday I hope to have a lovely collection of my favorites to pass down to my loved ones who share my love for all things edible and delicious. In the meantime I look forward to engaging with my husband, family, and friends over a home-cooked meal and building a legacy of love around the table.
