I love this time of year! The air is crisp and cool, the colors are slowly beginning to change from green to gold and red, the sunrises and sunsets beam with amber and pink hues. Everything is vibrant and glowing; I can’t say it enough – I LOVE FALL!
The hubby and I are gradually making our transition into the fall routine – complete with watching football (Go Spartans! Go Lions!), resuming work on home improvement projects (i.e. finishing the basement), and other odds and ends that we tend to drift away from in the summer months. This season is all about slowing down, taking a breath, and relaxing a bit more. I love days where I can just stay in my sweats, drink coffee, knit or read, and just “be” for awhile; days where we visit the apple orchard and pumpkin patch, made perfect with a snack of cider and donuts. I love running in the early morning hours, passing in and out of the fog by the marsh and hearing the crunch of leaves under my feet on the dirt road. For us, fall is about enjoying the sights and senses, relishing in the harvest of blessings that God has graciously bestowed upon us.
I am so looking forward to being home more in this season; spending quality time with family and friends, participating in fall races, preparing for and enjoying the holidays – the movies, the decorations, the parties. This is the stuff that makes for a good life!
Happy Fall!
