Anybody who knows me knows I’m a bible study girl! I LOVE getting into God’s Word and learning from Him. I especially LOVE diving into Scripture with other women. As I’ve recently been on a break from meeting with my bible study gals, I began participating in the online #SheReadsTruth community and guess what? I LOVE IT!
All of us are currently reading, praying, and discussing the Book of Proverbs. Each day we read a chapter, pick out those verses we find particularly comforting or challenging, and pray them to God as well as work on memorizing them so that they really sink into the very depths of our hearts and lives. I have really been enjoying it as part of my morning quiet time. I like to sit in my big chair with my Bible, iPad, journal and a hot cup of Keurig coffee and soak for a bit before the busy day begins. This, in addition to my weekly running, is what keeps me sane and strong. If it weren’t for those two things, Lord knows how I’d be…LOL!
One of the things I love most about participating with this group is the emphasis on keeping God at the forefront of our lives – making Him the ultimate priority. It’s really difficult to do that sometimes with so very much clinging for our attention. Whether we’re working, going to school, being spouses, being parents…you name it…there’s A LOT on our plates. We juggle so much and it can really be easy to lose sight of the important things. My faith in the Great and Awesome God is what gives me a foundation and encourages me to keep going, even when it feels like the hardest thing to do.
Another thing I really like about the group is the opportunity to connect with other women via photography. They have a live Instagram feed on the website and you can post pictures of things that relate to the verses we’re studying. I always love to see the creativity paired with the beauty of God’s truth. It’s inspiring and motivating!
So, if you’re looking for an insightful and biblical community to join, I recommend #SheReadsTruth! Maybe the best part is that you can be in community AND be in your pjs all at the same time…what’s not to love about that?!?
