Much like everyone else all over the country, this weekend was our official kick-off to the summer season! Woo Hoo!
Aside from the years I’ve traveled to Colorado over Memorial Day weekend, this one was much like the ones before with time spent at the lake, hosting our best friends and catching up with our fellow marina-dwellers; eating, drinking, and spending as much time as possible in the fresh air and sunshine; reading and walking and running and bike-riding along the lakeshore; and of course having ice cream at House of Flavors – YUM! You name it – we did it – all for the purpose of celebrating the beginning of our most favorite time of the year. And, personally, it couldn’t have come at a better time!
Here are a few pics from our time up north …

Summer Adventures
Maybe more than ever before, I’m ready for summer. I need the break – a time to catch my breath, to abide, and revel in the things I love most about my home state and those special activities that bring me joy – travel and adventure in the great outdoors (I can’t wait to be out west again, exploring new National Parks just over a month from now)!
Because I’m feeling the need for a bit of a breather, I’m going to take a little time away from this space. I want to carve some space for God to work and move, to bring some things to life that I can feel sprouting just under the soil, and frankly, I think that means letting some things go for a bit. I may check-in here and there, but I don’t intend to post each week like I have for the last two years. I love to write, but the task of having new things to post each week and this “to do” constantly on my list … well, it’s time to take a step back and see what God may have next for this beloved space of mine.
So with that, I wish you all a “happy summer” to come and I look forward to catching up with you when inspiration strikes fresh and new following a season of rest and dreaming with God.
Blessings, friends!
