Last Saturday marked the bestie and I’s 5th Annual ‘My Favorite Things / Girls Day Out’ party here at the ranch and what. a. HOOT. It’s no surprise all of us had a good time, given this is our FIFTH consecutive year hosting this awesome event, and we can certainly say we get better and better at doing this each and every year (at least we think so)! I mean – I’ve said this before – but you really can’t go wrong with God, girlfriends, good food, and gifts – am I right?
Like years prior, we had amazing food, good conversation, and of course, so many fabulous things to learn about and choose to bring home with us and adopt as our “new favorite things.” I love having a house full of women – listening to everyone talking and sharing and catching up on the things of life – the things we have in common and the differences that make us unique. I stood back for a moment and just took it in and felt nothing but gratitude for the amazing souls God has put in my life. These women are such blessings to me and it was joy to get-together in my home and have this special set-aside time with each other. It’s truly become a day that so many of us look forward to every year!
Here’s what the ladies brought this year …
I think my favorite part, of course, is when all of us head downstairs to the ‘girl cave’ to share what favorite thing of ours we brought and why it’s our ‘favorite’, and then of course, the drawing of the names (so much anticipation) and getting to pick out what we want to try out and add to our personal collection. I love all of the items I scored this year …
What’s really cool is when I see or use one of the items I’ve gotten from this over the years because I’m instantly reminded of where and who it came from. Every item has a little memory associated with it, as well as a feeling of gratitude for the woman who came and shared it with us.
I think we’ll keep this tradition up in the years to come. It’s just too fun not to continue. And if you’re someone like me who loves to get people together and doesn’t mind spending a few bucks to host something like this, I highly recommend you do it! It’s a blast, and you never know, it might just become an annual tradition!
Thanks to all the girls who came out on Saturday! Love you all!
