Today marks the official start to fall! Yay! Fall is my absolute FAVORITE season for so many reasons – but one of the biggest reasons I’m looking forward to it this year is because I am in need of some time well spent at home. Summer was a season of go, go, go, and as much as I love the weather and appreciate getting away on the weekends, I am ready to enjoy a slower pace of life and focus on home base. I need the time and space to get comfy-cozy and stay put for a bit, and fall offers the perfect opportunity to do just that with it’s shortened daylight hours and cooler temps.
Things I LOVE about fall, include: pumpkin-spice lattes, picking apples at the local orchard, making grandma’s chili and cornbread, getting back into community-life at church, watching the trees in our yard change from green to red to gold, pumpkin-caramel-drizzle candles, baked goodies shared with family and friends, Spartan football, pumpkin ale, curling up next to the fire with a good book, our annual visit to the local pumpkin patch, watching ‘scary’ movies with the hubby, and celebrating birthdays, Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Following a season packed full of ups and downs, I have to believe that good things lie ahead in this new season. My heart tells me that it is only a matter of time until God brings the harvest. And I am looking forward to the blessings that will unfold in His time.
Wishing all of you a lovely start to this season. Happy fall!
